Wine Tasting Adventure in the Vineyards
Our Winter Hours (November through February) We are closed Monday & Tuesday
Sit back & relax while we plan your perfect afternoon in the Verde River Valley exploring the vineyards in the heart of Arizona wine country.
The Verde River Valley is definitely on the map as an up and coming wine producing region and we have two wine tasting tours and we do all the driving. So you can just relax and enjoy the scenery and wine tasting experience.
The Verde River Valley has similarities to some of the great wine producing regions in the world. It has the sunshine and heat to develop great fruit. The valley also has the unique rocky soils that help the vines produce fruit with great flavors and concentration. These soils and stressful growing conditions force the vines to struggle to survive. This struggle causes the vines to put their energy into developing less abundant but higher quality, more intensely flavored fruit – just the characteristics the winemaker wants to craft great wine.
Over the past 9 years the Verde Valley has seen the birth of vineyards and wineries nestled in between the communities of Cottonwood, Jerome, Clarkdale, Camp Verde and Sedona.
On this tour we will visit 3 to 4 boutique vineyards and their wine tasting rooms where you can sip wine from the beautiful decks and patio overlooking the vineyards and even go for a stroll amongst the vines.
Visit Page Spring Cellars a family owned winery and vineyard tucked into the volcanic landscape overlooking pristine Oak Creek Canyon, just 15 minutes south of Sedona in the Verde Valley. Page Springs Cellars shares their passion and interest with everyone, from the first time sipper to the seasoned enthusiast, providing academic and hands-on experiences helping people expand and trust their own senses.
Visit Javelina Leap is a family operated, premium boutique winery with international award winning wines. On our visit, you will be sampling wines at a fully functional vineyard and winery. Enjoy a tour of the winery while sipping your wine or relax in the Arizona room and private garden where we serve artisan cheese platters, deli meats, artisan pizza and wines by the glass or bottle.
Visit Oak Creek Vineyards where they use the Arizona sun to achieve the high sugar content they rely on to create their distinct flavors. Oak Creek grow Syrah and Merlot on the higher elevations of their vineyards, and the lower portions are home to Zinfandel and Chardonnay. The wines Oak Creek makes are full bodied, flavorful reds, and lean whites in small batches giving individual attention to every barrel.
Visit Alcantara Vineyards the first winery on the Verde River and is one of the largest vineyards in Central and Northern Arizona. This is where we our world famous “Water to Wine Tour” ends. Alcantara vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. Try their award winning red and white wines, which will transform your taste buds into the relaxing world of wine tasting. Enjoy their surroundings while you sip wine, which include the Verde River running around the property and bald eagles flying overhead.
There is no formal vineyard tour once we have arrived. Occasionally if we arrive at just the right day and time we sometimes are treated to a deeper view of the vineyard operations.
